Liebster Blog Award

15 Dec

Here comes award post number two. Jacqui gave me the Liebster Blog Award which is very cool because unlike a lot of other bloggers, this one speaks my language :)) ‘Liebster’ is a term of endearment in German, for those of you that didn’t know yet.

-When you receive the award, thank the person who gave it to you, and include their link in your blog.
– Post 11 things about yourself.
– Answer the 11 questions of the person who nominated you.
– Choose up to 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers.
– Create 11 questions for your nominees!
– Inform the nominees of their nomination.

11 things about me:

1. I don’t drink coffee, I don’t foresee it ever becoming my beverage of choice.
2. Play the Macarena in my presence and I will start to dance along to it, same goes for the Rigga-Ding-Dong-Song.
3. Buying underwear is really awkward.
4. I rather shower than take a bath
5. I once dreamed of becoming a writer but that goal has reached its expiration date a while ago.
6. I like wearing glasses. My face feels empty without them.
7. My .gif-collection is getting bigger by the day.
8. I spend waaaaay too much time on the internet.
9. I’ve never visited London even though it’s not far away.
10. I can juggle.
11. When I’m bored I tend to fold ships and airplanes out of paper.

Exhibit A

Exhibit A

11 Questions from Jacqui:

1. Why did you start blogging?

Because I read about a character in a book that was blogging and wanted to try it for myself.

2. What do you do in your spare time?

Watch all my shows, surf the web, read, hang out with family and friends or go to some rehearsal.

3. Your stangest dream?

That I lived across the street from a serial killer called ‘The Butcher’ but I was also living in the same building as him (my subconscious doesn’t do consistency) and saw how he murdered someone. I think that counts as my strangest dream.

4. Is there somewhere you’d rather be right now?

Nope, not right now.

5. What’s the first thing you think of in the morning?

How I wish I could go back to sleep.

6. Who did you talk to last?

My granny :)

7. How did you decide to start blogging?

Umm, see question #1?!

8. Favourite holiday?

Christmas. Cause I get to spend it with family and there are presents.

9. Favourite place away from home?

Close to an ocean or a big lake. Also, Växjö in Sweden.

10. What is your most prized possession?

My 50l trekking back-pack. I can’t wait to travel again.

11. What’s on the top of your Christmas Wishlist.

I don’t really do wish lists. The only material thing I wanted was a Blu-Ray player which I got for my birthday and christmas together already. Other than that, I only have wishes money cannot buy.

My 11 questions:

1. How will you celebrate Christmas, if you celebrate that is?
2. What is your favourite dish?
3. Have you ever made a snow angel?
4. Can you juggle? Have you ever tried it?
5. If you could swap your blog with another one for a day, whose would it be and why?
6. Are you a procrastinator? Probably, since you’re a blogger…so what is your favourite way to procrastinate?
7. What is your favourite season?
8. What do you think is the best thing about yourself?
9. If you could pack your bags right now, where would you like to travel to?
10. What do you wish 2013 to be like?
11. Are you as happy that these 11 questions are over as I am? Because it is hard to come up with decent questions, at least for me.

And finally, the nominees:

Betwixt an Between (I know you already got this one, but you’re still one of my favourites)

thoughtsonmybookshelf (Why do all my favourites already have this Award?)

The Little Butch That Could

I think that’s it. If you already got this one and I nominated you again, well, I’m sorry but I’m not sorry because I love your blogs. Also, I feel like I’m always naming the same blogs, I guess I am a person of habit.

I was fortunate enough to get this award again from The Little Butch That Could so I’m just going to add her questions on this old post.

1. What is your favorite smell?

– Probably freshly baked cake or cookies.

2. Who is the most influential person of your life?

– My lovely Grandma, who today forced me to eat ice cream. Se loves me way too much and I can only hope I’ll live up to her expectations.

3. If you could invite 3 living people to dinner, who would they be and why?

– Sasha Alexander because she is damn pretty and also funny. A.L. cause she is my oldest fan. And Tina Fey, she is hilarious and I love what she does.

4. What’s your favorite childhood memory?

– Playing games with my Granny.

5. What was your first paying job and what did you learn from it?

– The first job I was paid for was sorting paperwork and doing basic office stuff at my Mom’s company. Well, it was not her own company but she worked there. Not sure if I learned anything specific from it.

6. If you are familiar with public transportation and you are lucky enough to hop on an almost empty bus, where do you sit and why?

– I’d sit in the middle, close to the middle door, most likely bow side. I don’t like sitting in the back but I choose the position that gets me as far away from people I don’t know as possible.

7. Cat person, dog person or neither one and why?

– Dog person all the way. I don’t get what is so great about cats. Seriously! I don’t.

8. (Borrowed from James Lipton of “Inside the Actor’s Studio”) If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

– I hope this settles your questions, I do exist ;-) But I don’t mind you just didn’t trust the Bible blindly. I actually like that about you, not following for following’s sake. I hope this place lives up to your expectations though. And yo, I don’t have anything against gays!

9. What word or phrase do you use too often?

– This changes a lot. At the moment I feel that I overuse ‘however’.

10. What is the title of the last book you read?

– Currently I’m reading “Whispers Underground” and I’m almost finished.

11. What is your favorite dessert?

– I’m a dessert person, it’s the best thing about every meal. I like cake and ice cream and basically you can serve me a lot of different desserts, I won’t complain. I can’t name ONE, but cheesecake is on top of the list.

Another Award…Post

28 Sep

Sorry, I couldn’t come up with a good alliteration so…I didn’t.

I was again awarded with much appreciated blogging love in form of the Very Inspiring Blogger Award and the One Lovely Blogger Award. The first nomination has been sitting around for a while now but to be honest, I forgot about it, sorry The Appletizer!! But I’ll get right on it now.

The Very Inspiring Blogger Award

First of all, the RULES:

1. Display the award logo somewhere on your blog.
2. Link back to the blog of the person who nominated you.
3. State seven things about yourself.
4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award and provide links to their blogs.
5. Notify those bloggers that they have been nominated and of the award’s requirements.

Thank you very much very much The Appletizer for nominating me! I like your blog a lot and you thinking of my as very inspiring is pretty cool :-) I was awarded this again by Malna. Thank you very much as well! Tales of an unknown heart nominated me again for this award and she called me her all-time favourite. Sorry for pointing that out but all this blog-love is getting to my head! Jk, but WOW! Thank you for reading my stuff! And another one comes from Roohbarooh. A big thank you to you, too!

Onto the seven things about me. I think by now, I have spitted out so many random facts about me that it’s hard to come up with new ones, but I’ll try.

1. I LOVE, absolutely adore, vast open spaces of water, or waterfalls or oceans or big rivers…They just mesmerise me.
2. I don’t care for plants.
3. The pens in my pencil case are all pointing in the same direction. Yep, a little OCD.
4. I own the Twilight saga in paperback. There I said it. I’m embarrassed about it, but not enough to throw them out.
5. Music-wise, I badly miss the 90s.
6. Life’s too short to not eat what you love…I try to eat all my junk food in moderation though.
7. I much rather organise a drawer than study.

The One Lovely Blog Award

Thank you Malna for nominating me for this award. I know I’m repeating myself, but I also really like your blog! And I got it again from Khristine, thank you, too!!

RULES, again:

1. Thank the person/people who nominated you and link back to them in your post.
2. Share seven possibly unknown things about yourself.
3. Nominate fifteen or so bloggers you admire.
4. Contact the chosen bloggers to let them know and link back to them.

So I just came up with seven things about me and now I need to come up with 7 more? Phew! Give me a second *pacing*

Ok, I’m back.

1. I have a newfound love for everything with maple syrup.
2. My computer runs from the time I get up in the morning until I go to sleep when I’m at home.
3. I prefer to write with real ink pens.
4. I’m not good with people telling me what to do.
5. I wish there was a sleeping-time-continuum-vacuum in which you could sleep as long as you wish every morning and still get up early to actually get stuff done. Please, physicists around the globe, do something useful with your skills.
6. I feel like I forgot more during my studies at uni than I ever even learnt. It’s frustrating.
7. I don’t understand why I as a viewer cannot choose in which language I can watch a TV show. Why is the dubbed shit forced on me?

Aaaaaaand, that’s it. I apologise because I won’t be nominating any fellow bloggers because I don’t follow enough to nominate people I haven’t nominated before.

Yep, I know it’s like learning there is no Santa Clause. Sorry.

They call me beautiful

7 May

As stated earlier, I was nominated for three awards yesterday and I’m now trying to complete the tasks of forwarding the favors. You can check out the previous two here and here.

Now this post is for the Beautiful Blogger Award I was given by On Windy Days. He’s just so kind, that boy!!! Thank you again :-)

And I was nominated once more for this award by Tales of an unknown heart for this award, so thank you again :-)

Here are the rules as stated by On Windy Days for the Beautiful Blogger Award:

  1. Thank the one who nominated you by linking back
  2. Either give a paragraph of the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen or post one picture of something you consider beautiful. Because a picture’s worth a thousand words.
  3. Nominate five blogs
  4. Let your nominees know by leaving a comment on their sites
  5. Copy and paste the award image on your site.

For rule #2, I’m going to post a picture of a place I spend a lot of my free time. It’s the stage of the outdoor theater where I participate, act, hang out and meet my friends. It’s an older photo from 2009 but it’s so beautiful to me and as our stage is currently under heavy construction, this pic is way better.

Ok, now the nominating begins and the moment you’ve all been waiting for, or maybe not?!

This Labyrinth I Roam!

Betwixt and Between

Thank you for enriching my days with you post, I love to stop by your blogs and read about what you guys have to say. I think that’s it for today!

7×7 Link Award

7 May

Dear Simon from On Windy Days awarded me not one but two awards in one day. It’s the third in total that he nominated me for and I feel extremely grateful to him. He’s a marvelous being and great follower of this blog. Thank you for all the attention your directing my way!

Ok, here are the requirements of the 7×7 Link Award award:

  • Thank my benefactor.
  • Tell one unknown thing about yourself.
  • Link to seven of your previous posts.
  • Award seven other folks.

One unknown thing about me, huh? I frequently talk to myself. I don’t think it makes me crazy, at least not more crazy than all the other weird things I do, but whatever. At least, I always understand myself and my two me’s never argue :D

And now, let the linking begin. Seven of my previous posts:

Some of m favorite things!

Why I need to run sometimes

Some fictionalized feelings

Showing you guys my inner Peter Pan

A glimpse into the darker side of my life/feelings…

A story about the book I’m in love with

Musings about me missing Sweden

Here are the 7 fellow bloggers I’m nominating for this award:

A Solitary Ramble

Eat, Sleep, Television

Graveyards and Grasslands

A Novel Place

Classic Confusion

Over a Cup of Coffee

I think that was it for this award. Now I only have to do one other award post and then I’m finished.

P.S. If you want to find out 7 random things about myself, then check out my post on the Versatile Blogger Award.

A three-in-one day

7 May

As I can’t go to sleep just yet because I took a 3 hour nap until 8 pm earlier, I’m now wide awake. You may argue, that yes, I could lie in bed now, watching the last hour of Return of the Jedi, which I couldn’t finish before my nap, cause my head hurt and I was just tired but no.

Instead, I decided to write this post first because I was awarded three different blogging awards in one day!!! Isn’t that amazing? I was blown away this morning when I logged onto my computer and found this out. Just blown away. (I know I’ve been overusing the exclamation marks but I couldn’t help it).

Now, I don’t know which award post to do first and who to nominate because I feel like I don’t follow enough blogs for that purpose, yet my inbox is always so full with new post mails that I generally am behind on my catching up with them.

I’m not sure with which award I should begin, but … as … I … need … to … decide… I … choose … The Versatile Blogger Award. There, I did it, I chose one.

Then let’s begin. I was awarded this beautiful (greeeeen :-)) award by Lauren and it made me so happy because it means a lot to me. I simply blog about stuff on my mind, so thank you a LOT, Lauren. By the way, I love (!!!!) your background picture of the bookshelves!

First things first, the rules:

If you are nominated, you’ve been awarded the Versatile Blogger award.

Thank the person who gave you this award.
Include a link to their blog.
Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award
Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

I’ll start with the 7 things about myself.

1. I love to sing, I sing all day long, sometimes quietly in my head, sometimes very loud. I sing while brushing my teeth, driving a car, shopping for groceries. Only when I am deeply stressed or depressed I stop singing because I don’t have the time or lack the perfect song to pour my little heart into.

2. I have a 15 cm long scar on my left thigh. I got it from an operation when I was 15 to correct my hip dysplasia. They cut out a small triangle out of my thigh bone which resulted in me having 2 legs with different lengths. It’s no biggie though and in comparison to all those other scary diseases out there, I gladly take my orthopedic problems.

3. There are only a few books I started to read and never finished, the most recent one was Moby Dick. I felt bad about it, because it’s a classic but it was simply too much for me. Too long and boring. Sorry Melville.

4. I love to pack my suitcase!! For a lot of people it’s a pain in the ass, not for me. I thrive on organizing my stuff, thinking about what to take with me, making the most out of a limited space.

5. I’m very suggestible, when I read a book/ watch a great movie or TV show and find something in there that I love, then I want to do it/ have it etc. The list gets longer and longer. By now, I want to become a famous writer, Anthropologist, bookstore owner, get a PhD in whatever. I know there is more but it’s all I can remember at the moment. Even this blog resulted out of me reading a Kathy Reichs novel.

6. I’m 24 and I’ve never been in a relationship.

7. I don’t drink alcohol because I fear to get addicted, to loose control, not being able to stop it. I saw both my mom and dad drink quite a lot during my childhood (not saying any of them were alcoholics but it felt pretty close sometimes). Also, at parties, there’s always this point where someone did drink too much and the mood switches from being fun to not being fun at all anymore. That’s when I leave and since I didn’t have anything to drink I can easily drive away :-)

Crossing off the first thing, here come the nominees:

On Windy Days (I know you’ve already been awarded this one, but I wanted to give you something back for all the attention you’re trying to shove in my direction)
Tom Baker’s Morning Erection
The Modern Woman’s Society
Storytelling Nomad

Ok, I know it says to nominate 15 blogs but that is way too much for me, so I’ll leave it at those 4 blogs, I’m sorry I can’t nominate more, I just can’t. Besides, there’s no one to tell me otherwise, no blogging police will take the picture away from me, so go figure. I’m sticking with this. Now, I can go to sleep, or at least return to my Star Wars movie :D

The other award post will shortly follow. Until then, take care boys and girls!

Walking on Sunshine

22 Apr

Well, not literally since it’s alternating between sunshine and heavy rain over here but I thought it might sound like a clever title, maybe not so much, but I don’t care. The alternate title would have been something like, Oh, look, I got the Sunshine Award, which is also boring.

A while back (I believe in the beginning of March) Onwindydays nominated me for the Sunshine Award and I was blown away because I didn’t think anyone would think my ramblings good and interesting enough, but Simon did and so I’m very grateful for that.

I put this post off for a while (see above) but today is as good a day as any to finally pass on the favor of spreading the sunshine.

The Sunshine Award is meant for “bloggers who are inspirational, and who have impacted your blogging or your life.”

The rules are as follows:

  • Include the award’s logo in a post or on your blog
  • Answer 10 questions about yourself
  • Nominate 10-12 other amazing bloggers (I also found rules that say 5 blogs, so I’m gonna stick with that since I don’t follow enough blogs to nominate 10)
  • Link your nominees to the post and comment on their blogs, letting them know they have been nominated
  • Share the love and link the person who nominated you.

First things first, the questions:

Favorite Color: Green!!!!

Favorite Animal: I love elephants. If my mom would let me keep one in our backyard I’d already have one but the thing is, they actually take up a lot of room (who would have known??)…nevertheless they are awesome. Have you ever looked at their feet? I find them truly fascinating :D

Favorite number:  13 because I was born on friday the 13th and I don’t believe all that superstition concerning that day.

Favorite non-alcoholic drink: Mezzomix (I don’t know if it is available all over the world under this name but in short it is a Fanta and Coke mix, well not one but THE best mix.

Prefer Facebook or Twitter?  Facebook cause I have more friends there but I like Twitter as well.

My passion:   Other than the TV and fast food addiction, I love to act. I’m a member of a outdoor theater group and we perform two different plays each year, one is for kids the other one for adults. This year I’m taking part in Peter Pan as a pirate! Har-har :-)

Prefer getting or giving presents:  Oh boy, both or neither. I can’t really decide, it depends on the person who is geving/receiving I guess.

Favorite pattern:  Waves…wait, is that even a pattern? I’m clueless.

Favorite day of the week:  Any day I can sleep in and the sky isn’t crashing down on me.

Favorite flower:  Gerbera, just like the flower in the award photo :-)

Now comes the hardest part, nominating other blogs.

Howtodateboys gives me insights into the dating world I never knew I was missing and keeps me wondering how she managed to date all the different types of boys she writes about.

Daughter of Cancer is the first blog I started to follow because her mom died of the same disease my mom has right now and her posts from that time reflect my feelings so well, especially on the days you ask yourself if the fight will be worth it or not. Every post has me on the verge of tears or even crying because her words hit pretty close to home, nonetheless I love to read them. Now she is a new mom and I wish her little family all the best!

This Labyrinth I Roam is written by my first fan. Hahaha, just kidding, but I enjoy her posts a lot!! Anju, as far as I can tell form her posts and some Twitter chats, is a great person, who is compassionate and funny, which makes her pretty awesome in my book.

Diary of a Living Girl started out as Diary of a Dying Girl which she was until last week. I’m extremely happy that she is not leaving the earth anytime soon, thanks to a cool robot surgery, because her posts are beautifully written and make me crave more.

Betwixt and Between was one of the first blogs to follow me. I am eternally grateful to Addie because she tagged me and thus let me come in contact with some fine bloggers whose posts I love to read.
